A Lake Boca sandbar boat trip puts you in waist-deep water with a cooler, a float, and nothing to do for three hours. The sandbar sits in Lake Boca near the Boca Inlet, about 20 minutes south of Delray Beach by boat. On a weekend it's the social center of the coast. On a weekday it's close to empty.

Delray Beach Boat Rentals runs private sandbar trips for Delray Beach and Boca Raton guests, boarding at Waterstone Resort & Marina in Boca Raton. You get the whole boat, a USCG-licensed captain who knows where to anchor, and snorkel gear and tubing on request.

Call or text (954) 299-5455 to book. We answer 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM, seven days a week.

How a Sandbar Trip Works

  • Board at Waterstone Resort & Marina and you're on Lake Boca in minutes, or add a cruise north past the Delray waterfront homes first
  • The captain anchors on the sandbar in water shallow enough to stand in
  • Swim, float, snorkel, or tube; the Seabob comes on the 36, 40, 44, and 52 foot yachts
  • Watch the boats come through the Boca Inlet from the lake
  • Cruise back, or add a dock-and-dine stop on Lake Boca or near Atlantic Avenue

Most trips run 3 to 4 hours. Add time for a dock-and-dine lunch or a sunset return.

Know Before You Go

  • The Boca Inlet has shifting shoals and strong current. Swim on the lake side of the boat, where the captain anchors, not toward the inlet.
  • The Palmetto Park Road bridge opens on the hour and half hour. Taller boats time the run around it.
  • Slow-speed zones cover parts of Lake Boca, so the captain idles in. That's normal.
  • The last Sunday in April is Boca Bash, an unsanctioned party that packs the lake with thousands of boats. Most of our guests choose a different day.
  • Weekends from January through April are the busiest. Weekday trips get more sandbar to yourselves.

Why Book With Us

These days go wrong in two ways: a self-drive rental anchored in the wrong spot, or an app booking with a captain fee and a fuel fee collected at the ramp. Our trips are private, on company-owned boats, with our captain at the wheel. You book direct, fuel and captain are in the price, and the boat in the photos is the one at the dock.

See Delray Beach boat tours for the other routes we run, including the Intracoastal estate cruise that pairs with a sandbar stop.
